Graduate Study
CEINT is looking for motivated students from engineering, chemistry, physics, biology, and related fields for PhD graduate fellowships and, in some cases, study towards a Master of Science (see specifics for institutions below). CEINT Graduate Fellows participate in multidisciplinary, multi-institutional research teams, and are expected to complete an internship, service learning project, or external laboratory rotation with collaborating faculty, international partners, end-users or practitioners. Dissertation committees typically include CEINT faculty from at least two CEINT academic institutions, and co-advisors from one or more of CEINT's Participating Institutions.

CEINT Summer Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) Program
CEINT offers an NSF funded REU program for undergraduates hosted by four CEINT partner institutions: Duke, Virginia Tech, and Carnegie Mellon Universities as well as the European Center for Research and Education in Geosciences and the Environment (CEREGE) in Aix-en-Provence, France. This internship provides students with cutting-edge research experiences at these placement sites spanning the cellular, organismal and ecosystem range with a focus on the environmental impacts of nanotechnology. Participating students receive a $4000 stipend plus housing and travel.
Undergraduate Participation-Academic Year
CEINT offers numerous opportunities for undergraduate internships for students from US institutions, as well as targeted research projects and course offerings. Interested students should contact either CEINT staff or faculty at the participating institutions.

The Integrative Graduate Education and Research Traineeship (IGERT) in Nanotechnology-Environmental Effects and Policy at Carnegie Mellon and Howard is a new interdisciplinary graduate program funded by the National Science Foundation.
