Research Interests

I am a lab manager and research technician in ecotoxicology, specifically in the use of the aquarium model fish Japanese medaka (Oryzias latipes). I focus on early life exposures, using multiple levels of biological organization to answer questions of nanomaterial uptake and distribution through in vivo observation and morphological evaluation, high resolution microscopy and digital imaging, skeletal staining, histopathology, and qPCR. My work has focused on nano-selenium, increasingly used in agriculture and medicine, but for which little is known about its environmental impacts.
