CEINT Researcher wins Poster Award

The Joint School of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering at the Gateway Research Park together with the North Carolina Center of Innovation Network (COIN) hosted the 2014 Nanomanufacturing Conference: “A Conference to Move from Innovation to Commercialization”. The conference served to bring together founders, CEOs, senior executives, business leaders, economic developers, and other leaders spanning academia, industry, government and non-profits to work together and inspire growth in the manufacturing sector in North Carolina and the US.

Alexis Wells Carpenter, a postdoc in Mark Wiesner’s lab at Duke University, represented CEINT at the event and presented a poster on her work titled “Nanocellulose-Zero Valent Iron-Based Composites as an Improved Remediation Strategy”. Alexis won an award for her poster, which included a Dell laptop!
